Masonic Foundation

The Masons of California are committed to personal growth and making a profound difference in the lives of others.

About the California Masonic Foundation

The mission of the California Masonic Foundation mirrors that of the Masons of California – to foster personal growth and improve the lives of others. Through our members’ generous support, we bring the Masonic values of brotherly love, relief, and truth to fruition in communities statewide.

California Masons are proud to call nearly 50,000 good men throughout California our brothers. We are men of all races, ethnicities, religious views, political affiliations, and professions who are united by a common moral code of brotherly love, relief, and truth.

Together, we bring hope, guidance, leadership, and financial support to communities throughout California. Our impactful programs offer critical relief to the most vulnerable members of our society and Masonic family.

Masonic Philanthropy

Masonic philanthropy is woven into the tapestry of California history. During the cholera epidemic of 1850, Masons built one of the state’s first hospitals at Sutter’s Fort to care for those stricken by disease. In the years since, Masons have often been at the forefront of relief during natural disasters and other casualties, here and around the world.

In 1898, the Masonic Homes of California was built with the creation of our first residential community in Union City. Today, the Masonic Homes provides residential senior living, statewide outreach and case management services, referrals to care resources, and therapeutic services for struggling youth.

The California Masonic Foundation was formed in 1969 with the purpose of furthering the education of young people from kindergarten through college. Today, we provide philanthropic services to all of California’s Masonic charities – from the Masonic Homes to literacy initiatives and other impactful community programs.
