Brethren, Conejo Valley Lodge is busy! Our 2015 officers have already qualified on the 1st Degree for next year and are well on their way to qualifying on all three degrees. We conferred several degrees over the summer and will resume degree conferrals after the 2015 officer qualifications conclude in October. Additionally, we have held several social and Child ID events in the past months and have many more scheduled for the remainder of the year (See calendar for details). We will have the honor of presenting two brothers their Golden Veterans (50-year) pins at up-coming Stated Meetings – Brother Steve Ames at the October Stated and Brother Gerald Weissman at the November Stated. Also, we will be presenting one very deserving brother the Hiram Award at our December Stated. Our annual Past Masters’ Night will be Tuesday, October 28 when Bro. Adam Tischler will receive his 3rd Degree. As usual, the degree will be followed by pizza and refreshments at Toppers Pizza. Our Job’s Daughters and DeMolay chapters are strong, but could always use our support. They are always looking for new members. If you have or know of any kids/grand kids/nephews/nieces/etc. who might be looking for new friends and a meaningful organization, please refer them to the chapters. I’d like to congratulate Brothers Aragon and Westerband on receiving their 1st degree in Masonry and becoming brothers in our Lodge. I know I can speak for the entire Lodge when I say “welcome”. Congratulations Brothers Bhullar (courtesy work for Hollywood Lodge #335), Gambino and Tischler on receiving your 2nd degree in Masonry. You are one step closer to receiving all the light Freemasonry has to offer. Once again, our Lodge will be well represented at the Grand Lodge’s Annual Communication in October this year. As of mid-September, there are already twelve brothers planning to attend. If past years’ experiences continue, our Lodge will have one of the highest attendances from Southern California. As many have said it, our Lodge may be small, but we are strong! At the Annual Communication, we will be debating and voting on many issues effecting Masonry in California. It will be an honor to represent you at Grand Lodge. Are you receiving my Weekly Update emails on Sunday evenings? If you are not getting them, please contact me, so I can get your updated email address added to the database! Check the Lodge’s web site calendar (www.conejomasons.org) regularly to find out what is happening at our Lodge. Please remember, Tuesday is Lodge night. Once 2015 officer qualifications conclude in October, we will return to a full calendar with events. Come to Lodge and enjoy its privileges!
