From the West

This is the time of the year to reflect and assess the past year’s accomplishments to see what can be done for the future of our lodge. What will attract our members participation and involvement? As our members become involved so will the lodge grow and its functions. Talking with our brothers, I see them go through stages of life where they are overwhelmed with family, work, and daily grind. Sometimes its health issues of a loved one or themselves. The prolonged absence from lodge activity becomes the norm and the non-participating rut becomes firmly established. As we devide our time what portion is left for “refreshment and repose?” How can we get members to take a second look at their time to see if Masonry can again fit into their lives. What kind of activities and will again involve them? These are my challenges for the upcoming year and beyond and I am open to suggestions.
